１０万キロ以上は走った古い車では、車の走行中にエンジンが突然止まることがある。
例えばbatteryの警告ランプが点いていたら：
- batteryが上がる
- batteryに電源を供給しているalternator（発電機）が壊れる
- alternatorについているベルトが駄目（切れる）になる。
などが考えられる。
ところで、alternatorは５万キロくらい走った車なら十分壊れる可能性があるらしい。
